Rough Country Lift...

FYI...Looks like the guys at Rough Country finally updated their web site. This kit looks way superior to Rancho's POS. And the clock starts ticking. Sylvian Lake is a must see...it's not exactly a local secret but it's one of my favorite spots. Drive Needles Highway if you get the chance too...it's beautiful. And go to Deerfield Lake if you want some good brown trout and northern pike fishing. Too many 4wheeling trails to mention...you'll have a blast.

Why does it look superior to the Rancho "POS", you ask??...This is straight from the Rancho site: * This kit was developed using a 325/60/R20 on 20x9" wheel with 5.0" of back-spacing. Use of the maximum tire size 37 x 12.50 will require some trimming of the front air dam/fascia & inner fender well for clearance. Rancho recommends using 4.5" of backspacing on 16", 17", and 18" wheels, 20" and above we recommend using 5.0" backspacing. Before installing any other wheel/tire combinations, consult your local tire & wheel specialist. Now, I'm no genius but the rough country kit "looks" superior for the simple fact that you can have a set of wheels and tires that don't stick out past the fenders like a AA battery powered stomper toy. And you won't have to go cutting and jerryrigging your fender well to fit those stomper tires. Maybe that's the way you personally like your tires...but not me. Who would really want a true offroad vehicle with a lift designed specifically for 20" rims? And who in their right mind would buy such an overpriced POS knowing that Rancho themselves even admit that you'll have to do some minor trimming? The retards at Rancho didn't do their homework...why would you spend that kind of $$ for a lift kit that STILL requires trimming just for tire clearance? Personally, I think your rig looks ridiculous. Why don't you check the pics from rough country if you want to see what a truly functional lift looks like.

sorry...I'm just tired of blowhards puffing up everytime someone says something negative about a product or setup. It's not like "POS Rancho Kit" was meant to be some kind of personal shot at the manhood of all people who have a rancho lift...sheeezzz! Oh well, to each his own I guess.

im not personally offended....its ok, i dont care on a personal level.
however, lets look at some facts.
1. i didnt have to trim anything from my fenders. the suggested tire size is actually 35's and thats what i have. no trimming.
2. the kit was not designed specifically for 20" rims. they state u can use them. im not sure i see the point anyway.
3. when u raise ur vehicle 6-7", and dont widen the stance, do u think ur more or less prone to tip over? hmmmm. so maybe theres an advantage with a wider stance. so besides the fact i like the aggressive look, there is a functionality behind it.
4. as far as looks, which is subjective anyway, i have had more compliments on the look of my truck than i can imagine. i have jeepers tell me they hate hummers but like the look of mine, fwiw. i dont care, i like it.
5. another fact, i havent had the problems that timco has posted abt. my vehicle is stable at high speeds, brakes well, corners well, and drives pretty nice. at 40mph i do notice a little steering wheel shake, no biggie, but i understand thats from the aggressive tire tread.
timco has pointed out a clearance issue on air down, but i havent really looked into that. ill take his word for now. is that big an issue for me? dont know.

so jacob, before u rip any product, get some of your facts straight. if u dont like it fine. not everyone will like everything, its ok. u wont hurt my feelings. and i didnt even get mad. just posted a pic and asked whats so "pos" abt the rancho setup....this thing climbs **** a stock h3 wouldnt have a chance.
the rc kit looks good as well. nice u dont have to change rims....but no biggie. i like my rims and get many compliments there too.
sorry u dont like my truck, but its for me, and its my money. use urs the way u wish.
