Yup I lined them up on purpose. I am even thinking of using black crome treatment on the bolt heads as well.

Thus allowing for better departure angle. I had the carrier tilted in toward the body of the truck as well. IMO the factory carrier gave the illusion that the tire was falling away from the truck.

@HumminNBoatin': This is such a sweet idea that I have to be 'like Mike'...I just dropped my carrier off at the local welding/fabrication shop with your pics. Mine should be ready Tuesday!
