because I ran mine down to almost empty on the gauge and it said on my DIC that I used only 22 gallons and DIC said I only had 38miles of travel left ... Anyone know for sure ??? Specs say 32gallon tank but I dont know for sure...

That's right 32 gallons. Mine is on empty at about 26 gallons which it leaves 6 gallons for reserve.

"Low" comes on with about 3 - 4 gallons left.

Are you going on a long trip w/ very few gas stations around?

yes, and its mostly steep mountain roads... on the way to our friends cabin.

But, I just was wondering because I thought it my gas gauge was way off ... So I wanted to assure myself that I'm not going to run out of gas...

Red face Re: Gas tank discrepancy

I was on a flat freeway going 65 when i had 11 miles to empty and run out of gas on the freeway
i coasted off the freeway and left the rig on the offramp shoulder,
good thing there was a gas station right on the corner.

x3.....Usually 26gallons gone when the light comes on. The most I ever had to put in it was 29 and some odd gallons. If you are doing long hauls or towing and have LARGER than stock tires pay no attention to your computers calculated gas usage. Its going to be off. Mine is always within a gallon but it gets way out when towing the boat on long hauls through the mountians.

yeah I corrected with my Diablo Programmer ... So my computer is calibrated to 35" tires. Its pretty damm close, when my fuel usage meter says 22gallons used ... It take 22 gallon to fill up. Just the travel mileage left on the gas tank is off big time...

At 22gallons it says I have 38miles left on the tank ... And if the tank is a 32gallon tank that still leaves me with 10 gallons. Either way, with the programmer and adjusting how I modulate the gas pedal; I've been gettign 13.2mpg instead 11.3 mpg before...
