I'm starting to look for a winch for my truck and was wondering what you guys are doing with your front plates? i know some states dont require them but my state does.

Re: WINCH FOR H2
Being from NC we don't have front plates. If we did however, I would have just moved my plate to the passenger side and mounted on the front of the bumper. I think it would have looked cleaner there than try to have it "hang" under the bumper out of the way. (nevermind the potential to get ripped off when you hit the curbs at the mall)

Suction Cups!
I took mine and fastened some suction cups to the 4 holes onthe plate.
I just stick it to the inside of the windshield.

Re: WINCH FOR H2
I put mine on the drivers side on the bumber. I used a hinge and mounted one side of the hinge on the bumber and the other to the plate. Then if I needed to use the tow ring, the plate would swing up and expose the tow ring and make it useable. I have had my H3 for three years and never used that ring yet.

Re: WINCH FOR H2
I usually don't use the required front plate. It's on the floor in the back. If I get pulled I'll just tell the officer the bumper is new and I haven't figured out where to mount it, yet.
I did have it on for a few month, however, using velcro to hold it on. I took a couple of screws and cut the heads off and clued them to the plate so it looked as if the plate was screwed on. It passed inspection this way.

Use two sets of Maglite D-Cell flashlight holders and attach them to the back of the OEM front license plate holder. Snap the assembly onto the roller fairlead of the winch. See pics...
