Tire Inflator/Power Source
I read previous threads about on-board compressors, etc. I received a Husky (Home Depot's brand) Jumpstarter System for Christmas and I think some of you may want to take a look at this. Here's a pic and features:
Instant vehicle startup complete with air compressor and 400 watt power inverter. Unit includes digital readout, built-in 110 volt charger, LED area light and a DC to DC charger.
? 450 amp jumpstarter.
? 400 watt inverter.
? 260 PSI air compressor w/ attachments.
? 12 volt power outlet.
? 3 LED area worklight.
The unit sells for only $89.99. It's rugged, compact (16wx9hx8d), versatile, and can bail you out of many jams as well as providing convenience. Jeez, I sound like a salesman. Anyway, this thing seems pretty cool so far and I thought I'd share it with you.

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
For the 400W power inverter, does it come with direct battery clamps?

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
I have had one of those for a couple of years. It has held up well. I carry it with me when hauling boats. Yes the jumper clamps also power it. It comes with a double dildo dc cord that can be used when running the compressor to speed things up. I run a 1/2 impact wrench off mine to set up the trailer and put the spares on to roll it in the water. So I have used it a lot. Now it lives in my Hummer plugged into the outlet in the cargo area. To charge it on AC you just hook up a regular extension cord because it has a built in charger. Don't leave home without it! ha ha It holds a charge real good. Its also great to charge cell phones and run tv's and booom box or even my laptop likes it.

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
How fast will it inflate a tire..??
Will it bring up four 35" tires from @ 18psi to 35psi with its own power supply or is that a plug it in task..??

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
I did a quick check. Charged, the digital read out on mine is 13.2 volts. While pumping it drops quickly to 12.3. That is with the temp at about 52 degrees. On battery alone it took a tire from 22 psi to 36 in about 7 minutes. It took three minutes or more to air it down with Staun bleeders! You would get one tire and performance would drop.
The best way is to plug it in. I made a DC extension cord from the double ender so I can reach the rears from the cargo plug and the fronts from the access plug on dash. I have not timed a full inflate that way but its quicker. I also noticed with the vehicle idling you get 13.8 out and that also helps. I use it over at the Superlift park when the line at the air hose is long. I get lots of onlookers and questions. Wonder if I could get a commision?

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
I bought the Husky on 12/28 and its nice
EXCEPT
The compressor is real slow and the pressure gauge is the most inaccurate piece of crap I have ever seen.
All else seems well. I would like a compressor that has some power in it but is no bigger then the husky unit.
Anyone have or seen a better compressor which runs on 12V and doesn't cut off after 8 minutes ???

If you dont need the power source, get one of these. You also dont have to store it or lug it around.

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
That is probably true about the 1050 but how well does it jump start you after you run the battery down using it at the amp draw it has unless you leave the H3 idling or jump a friend hanging on the side of a hill if you have it installed or run any ac accessories. (that is the point, you can't lug it around) Hell what's time to a hog? Four wheeling is suppose to be relaxing. Are you wanting to do NASCAR air ups? Just kidding, life is a compromise! Has anybody melted their fuse box when the 1050 gets up to 300 degrees?

Does the Husky go into shutdown/cool down after 8 minutes..?? Had been considering it, but I don't think 8 minutes of run time would get all 4 tires back up to road pressure from an aired down 20..

Like I said the Husky is nice EXCEPT the compressor part. If you want to bring 4 tires from 20psi up to 40psi you better bring a case of beer along. Yes, 8 to 10 minutes and "POOF", it turns into a pumpkin till it cools down and the gauge takes it up the "hershey highway"

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
Well I took back the Husky and got the MasterFlow MF 1050.
Boy the compressor is like night and day. The one built into the Husky is "CHIT" ...
I miss the other parts of ther husky but the compressor was the most important thing.
