"SEE" Edmonton AB,Magazine Article about Hummers
Hi guy's/gal's,
I recently did a magazine article on the Hummer for "SEE" Magazine in Edmonton (trendy metropolitan magazine). Here is a link to the article, let me know what you think. (Like I really need to ask...)
See Magazine Hummer, not for groceries...

So what are the mods that improve mileage?

Re: "SEE" Edmonton AB,Magazine Article about Hummers
As soon as I saw these "facts" they lost all credibility.
Quote:
VehicleWeightPriceFuel consumption
Hummer H1 10300 lbs$150K8-13 miles/gallon
Hummer H2 8600 lbs$70-75K11-15 miles/gallon
Hummer H3 5850 lbs$40-50K16-20 miles/gallon,
Ford Escape 3782 lbs$30-35K28-30 miles/gallon,
Toyota Prius 2890 lbs$30K45-52 miles/gallon,coughBullsh.itcoughcough
All figures approximate?figures vary, sometimes wildly, according to sources, with complaints over mileage estimates lodged by car reviewers towards the Hummers and Hybrids with equal fervour

Don't drive it as much....this is called the Behaviour Pattern MOD.
Other than that if you look through the forums there are a ton of resources that can help you save a few gallons and improve the overall performance of your rig. The key is Air to fuel allowing your engine to breathe properly, if you choke your motor you'll burn & waste alot more fuel...increase and manage the airflow, intake and exhaust, along with good quality fuel filtration system a performance chip and properly inflated front and rear tires (something like a 45front psi & 42rear psi or 42frt and 40 rear) you'll notice a fairly good increase in fuel savings while not having to spend too much money to achieve it.

Re: "SEE" Edmonton AB,Magazine Article about Hummers
Everytime I read this quote, "It was the gas guzzler of the line. Period. There's nothing worse on the planet than that, he admits of the Hummer H1, the model made iconic by the patronage of a certain action star-turned-governor and other celebrities."
It just makes me laugh. The gas milage is better than the H2. I am not putting down the H2 but the H1 gets better milage. At least that is Hummer execs have said.
And to say that the H1 was discontinued because of poor gas milage and low sales is stupid. The EPA regs in 2007 might have had something to do with it. Hell the Duramax price in 2007 is going up another 6grand because of it.
