My H1 HMC4 in LIMA PERU
Hi guys, I am new to the forum. There is practically no one in Per? that owns a H1. There are only two of them in Lima (I own one) and 5 wagons that belong to a mining company and they are stationed at the mine. I am in the process of buying the other one in Lima so hopefully by the end of next month i will be the owner of the only two H1 used as private transport in my country. I just love the truck, hopefully someday i will be able to buy all the ones from the mining company. My idea is to start a company to take tourist for off-road trips to the andes mountains and the amazon jungle or maybe rent them out to tourists that will visit Per? in the near future. We have lots of trucks in this country due to the difficult terrain so labor cost for maintenance is very cheap, practically the only thing to consider is the cost of parts.

Nice looking rig man!!! People must trip out when they see you coming down the road towards them. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Hi JJ, yes, people freak out when the see me on the road. Back in the early 80's when we had a lot of terrorism problems in Peru, trucks that looked like the H1 used to patrol the streets breaking demonstrations by spraying high pressure water onto the people, so it is not unusual to see 50s and 60 year olds running away from me like crazy people....hahaha

Very Nice H1!! Have any problems with some of those narrow streets in Lima? One of the nicest looking H1s I've ever seen.

Nice truck! Is that a 97 or a 98? Also, you are missing the center caps for the wheels, but I'm sure you knew that. Probably just easier without 'em, right?

Re: My H1 HMC4 in LIMA PERU
Thanks guys. It is a 1998. I know, somewhere while moving i lost the wheel caps, i am looking for replacements but so far it has been really hard to find them online.
UPDATE ***
I have changed the color of the car to a dark metallic gray. Changed all civilian lights to military lights, I have also changed all the interior light brown color to all black leather interior including all plastic parts. I have updated all the billets (Dashboard, Doors, ETC) to aluminum. Lower the height on the roof and trunk racks. I have also installed an Ericsson W25 internet 3g router, GSM and WIFI antennas so i got internet and phone even at remote locations.
NOw i call it the Hummer H1 "CIVIL WAR EDITION" due to the mix between military and civilian parts
The change to an all black interior cost me around 2000 USD here in Lima, and it looks great!!!!
There are more updates to come and i will post pictures soon.
Anyway if you ever visit Lima let me know, we'll go for a ride!
Christian

Wow, very cool. I assume you have a power inverter in there? If so, what size (wattage) and where did you mount it? How did you route the wiring?
1998 HMC4s are the best.
