I tore off my rear licence plate frame this weekend while offroading. Has anyone found a plate assembly for the spare tire similar to the H2? And not to bring up old news, but, if I had them, My "TIPS" would have also been torn off...

Here is an idea as I have had the same problem and due to the design of the location, I think there will always be a problem.
I have no done this yet but I suggest: To cut with a cutting tool a line in the plastic bumper to match the width of a license plate.
Then tuck the bottom part of the license plate "about 1 inch" behind the bumper so its inbetween the plastic bumper and the metal one beneath so it cant get "hung" up when on the trail.
I think this would work great but again I havent tried it yet myself.

I wish they had put 2 tow hooks on the rear bumper and found another spot for the license plate like the on spare tire.. I bet someone will make a kit for this.
Also bparker..it looks like you might be able to slide the plate up about an inch before you tuck the lower edge.
You could also bolt on a small metal lip on the bumper to keep the edge of the plate from being bent up

Even easier: Just hinge the plate.
Home Depot can help you out with that.

Considering that part of the H3 sales pitch pointed out that the exhaust tips were cut match the departure angle, the licence plate mount is a dumb oversight. Or the bit about the exhaust is baloney.
I like Timgco's hinge idea, but it won't help if you need to reverse. A solution requires the plate to be raised well above the lower line of the bumper.
