Re: Fabtech 6" lift
I noticed today that my front diff is leaking. I?ve been running with 38" tires without lift for a year now and havent have any problems until now. I?ve cranked up torsion bars could it cause oil leak ?

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
where is the leak coming from? if it's the drain plug you might need to tighten it up or install a new plastic washer under the drain plug.
here is a thread on it

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
it might be the issue, but can´t say for sure where it leaks. Could it possibly leak somewhere else? I have to clean the diff and see where it really leaks...
My friend told me that he drived one H2 with 6"fabtech lift and he claimed that it handled very differently. Handling was very poor compared to stock h2 .
Is it true it could affect to driveability so much ?
Should I get some leveling kit =(better driveability) ???? otherwise ????
With leveling kit is it possible to lift rear also (without air springs)
My truck drives and handles very good, but I hate rubbing and it rubs HARD.
I love the lifted look and better ground clearance when driving in deep snow, but would not like to lose driveability.

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
Mine has a 6" Fabtech. It's definitely different than driving a stock, but after a week or 2 you get used to it. A lot more responsive. I do highway and city driving and have no issues with it whatsoever. Would never, ever go back to a stock truck again.

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
It's been a while, but I believe my Fabtech lift came with Dual shocks, steering stabilizer, pitman & idler arms and heavy duty tie rods. I had some nasty loose steering issues right away. Removed the pitman and idler arms and that solved the problem. I would never say that the handling is poor compared to a stock H2. In fact, I like it better. And I agree with Stacy, I will never drive one without the lift!
Now as to your diff leak, I am blonde and can't help you with that though I could whip you up a mean hot chocolate! (It's cold here today!)

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
Thanks for your replies.
Does fabtech lift include everything that is needed for proper intallation.
Should I get also steering stabilizer or is there something else that you would recommend that could increase handling?
Can I possibly find fabtech lift installation manual somewhere ? I found ranchos manual which is very nice, but can´t find anything for fabtech ?
I´ve called couple local shops that could do the install and they are asking 3500 euros or 5100$ for ranchos kit with 4x 9000 shocks+ install which is very high. I could get fabtech lift for 2650 euros or 3800$+ install its high also but not as high as ranchos kit. How much lift installation cost over there?
I´m trying to find as much information as I can possibly get before choosing which kit I should buy. Fabtech installation manual would help a lot.

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
I decided to go with ranchos kit because it seems to be only street legal kit here in Finland. Ranchos kit does not include shocks. Is it possible to install the kit without ranchos shocks using stock shocks. What is the major differences beetween rs9000x vs rs9000x PRO vs stock shocks.

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
Where you going to park ? not in most garage's. as long as you know that the Fabtec lift is great and as said it handels good on the road . Installed one on a friends 05 H2 he loves it but has to park in the driveway and can't use parking garage's .

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
I have the Rancho lift with 37" tires. It's true that it's not going into most garages. That means a lot of ice scraping in the winter. I still prefer the lift over stock, for me.
Off road the Rancho lift kicks ass. I have read many good things about the Fabtech also but I haven't wheeled with one yet. I believe either option would be a great choice. I'm very happy with my Rancho lift.
My friend took these last month.

Re: Fabtech 6" lift
Ivanhummer - no stability problems at all off road. I LOVE the clearance you get. Stuff that I had to bump up on I just roll over now.
