Posted this in your pics thread but don't have anything to wheel until the H3 comes in. Thinking about buying a '74 Scout that my dad has but hasn't touched in at least two years. Very cool truck and thought it would be a fun project. Will just have to see.

Scouts are great projects. Parts are just a little harder to find/$$$ than Jeeps.

I used to hammer an 87 Wrangler. I put so much money into that when I was broke in college it was crazy.

Some of the things I did: (most things bought from 4WD hardware.)

Warn 8000i winch
Dick Cepek 6" lift
Entire paint job (black) with new front fenders
Lockers
Duster/wind deflector/bikini top (also had hard)
Stainless hinges, grill inserts, hood "T"
head and tail light guards (black)
Best top seats
New fender flairs / step delete
Diamond plate rear corners and rocker cover.

This truck was like a project that I had to do. It however taught me many things about the 4WD world.

When the motor popped I was going to add a GM350, but I never did - dropped a stock 6 back in (rebuilt) and sold it.
