Had a great time wheeling this afternoon on a new trail. Met up with a few Spanish speaking Jeeper families and we were all glad we met! I thought it was just a simple dirt road and didn't bring my spare tire along - turned out to be quite the difficult trail. After watching several of the Jeeps try to make it up a little side excursion, I went for it - and caught my right rear sidewall on a razor-rock. Whoops. Opened up about a 4" gash in the tire. They were very cool - drove me down to the staging area where a friend brought my spare, and then drove me back up and helped me change it out. In the meantime, however, one of their Jeeps broke a steering rod. Ouch. Once I was up and running again, I drove them down into town to another friend's house and he welded their parts back together. I got them back, we reinstalled it, and finally - as it was getting dark - we were all back on our way. Wheelers, no matter what they are driving or what language they speak, ar a very cool bunch. Of course, I never let them take a pick of my stranded Hummer, but I DID manage a shot of my H2 lighting them up for their repair.
All in all, a fun day and some new friends.

Southern California - northern L.A. County. Rohwer Flats (it is NOT FLAT except for three staging areas). It's a great trail over several mountain ridges. Lots of steep ups and downs, loose dirt, sand, rocks, SHARP ROCKS, and even shale. The County signs have it as three diamonds - whatever that means with L.A. County. Very pretty though. Ended up not going all the way through, so I will be back ASAP!
