Okay, I've searched and found out there are two disctinct types of HID headlights.
Projection H.I.D. lights and replacement HID headlights. Both now come with hi/lo beam features.
My question is, which one works the best?
I've searched the internet and found that a lot of these places don't exactly give a definition of a Projection HID system.
My search on the H2Source has revealed the best description (of course) about Delta HID lights.
Quote:

Here is a pic and description of the Projection Headlights from Predator Motorsports.

Could I get some feedback on these two different systems?
I tried the new bulb in the headlight assembly trick, and it just isn't doing any better. I'm thinking new lights all together will help. It gets very dark and rainy out here, and flipping on the PIAA's isn't exactly legal but MAN do they work good.

Projection is far superior as it projects the light exactly where it is needed. Every euro and Japanese high end HID system is projection.

Those projections are $$! But probably worth it if you want to go HID - do it right the first time.

Here's my advice.
If you have the means to do so, get the projectors. The projectors are the absolute best way to do things.
The Delta HID's are very nice, but their color temp (7000K) actually reduces the amount of light you end up with. 7000K HID's puts out only 600 Lumens more than a stock 55w Halogen bulb, and would be about the same amount with an 80w halogen overwattage bulb.
For a good comparison, look at this page here:
http://24.248.84.138/hummers/headlig...visionplus.htm
Towards the bottom are some charts involving the color temp versus lumen output. Your most efficient HID setups (projectors or reflectors) will be in the 4200 to 5000k range. I run 5000K's on my truck. My wife's BMW is in the 4200K range.
FYI - Steve

Thanks!
According to the info in the link the projections are definitely the way to go. I've seen them on another H2; I love the way they look, and I've heard how wonderful they perform. I just wanted to get the latest news on this ever changing technology.
In case anyone was wondering, the projections run about $1150.00 from Predator Motorsports
,and the Deltas run $1600.00 from H2Source.

IMHO the Deltas are Crap.... I had 4 failures with them before giving up and returing them. While the product was sub-standard, the Customer service was excellent. btw their touted "Austrian Cut Crystal Lenses" are aysemmetrical and they send two lefts in the kit. I guess buying 2 seperate lenses (left AND right) or molds from the maunfacturer was too expensive.....
