Will they fit ?

On a budget and looking to replace my stock H2 rims with Mazzi Hulk (in black). I will stick with the 17" rims so that I can use my low mileage factory BFG 315/70/17's. I am being told that they only come in the 17x10's with a -12 offset. My question is will they fit without rubbing ? This is a street-beater and not an offroader. It is a tight fit in the garage now (the luggage crossbars rub just a little) But I would assume with the additional width that it wouldn't be any taller and even a little shorter as the tires span the 10" rims. Am I on track or way off?

You're on track, it wouldn't be any taller at all... and no, you will not rub at all, the stock H2 wheel have a +18mm offset as I learned here not to long ago, anything below that will stick them out further saving you from rubbing, you're good to go bro, post some pics!

I'm pretty sure there is 3 different offsets available on the 17's...up to -20.

I have them in 24's
