Going to Paragon AP this Saturday
Headed there with the wife. Has anyone been on their monthly rides? Any requests or tips from all you PA Hummers and PAragon AP & Rausch Creek fans?

Re: Going to Paragon AP this Saturday
Damn, wish I could go with you. I have been wanting to do one of their monthly rides, but this weekend is the start of tail-gating season, plus I got to help a buddy move. Maybe can do the October ride.
Give us PA'ers (and the rest) pics and feedback on how you liked it.

Re: Going to Paragon AP this Saturday
Definitely go on whatever they decide is going to be the "intermediate" trail that day. I went on the easier trail ride my first time -- which would have been fine except they stuck a couple of very ill-equipped vehicles with our group and it ended up taking forever to get through relatively easy terrain. My H3 never broke a sweat and I didn't bother using my locker the whole day.
The harder trail is usually reserved for custom rock buggies, etc. , but I think it just depends on who happens to show up.

Have a fun time Yani! I wish I could join you.
Do you have your rock rails, UCP, and serious tires yet? No matter... Have a great time!

Re: Going to Paragon AP this Saturday
Went with the bride in May, when my H3 was barely 3 weeks old. Since it was our first time off-road, we went with the lowest level trail group and had a blast. The guide was friendly and helpful, as were the other people in the group. We were the only H3, so we took a lot of ribbing from all those jeep owners, but it was all very civil-not mean spirited. Many came up during the day and looked at the rig and asked questions.
Although it was the bunny trails, the guide took us on some great adventures, including stream crossing, mud holes, steep climbs and lots of rocks. Got stuck in the mud and hung up a bit during the stream crossing, but both were operator error and not anything to do with the ability of the truck.
I had chrome step rails and it was suggested that I remove them before the ride started, but I wasn't prepared w/ tools and was too embarrassed to ask around. Needless to say we had to stop mid-way along the trail and remove them after I bent the heck out of them, rubbing the tires. Took some ribbing for that as well. Live & learn.
It was a bit uncomfortable taking the $40,000 brand new truck and abusing the crap out of it, but we are looking foward to going again in October. Even though it will cost $$ to replace the tubes, it was worth it.
