Well, since there is still very little activity on the H3 Board, I thought I would post this here. So, all of you H2 dudes, if you were to have the option for the manual transmission, would you get it? Do you think it might make sense of the H3?

I wouldn't. Too spoiled by automatics. Besides, it would be one more thing to pay attention to why you're in the rocks. I have a hard enough time now.

While I am a huge fan of standard transmissions, I see the stall ability of the auto being a huge plus. As Ken was saying, trying to BTM with a standard gets difficult in many situations, not to mention you wear out the clutch so much sooner because you have a tendancy to ride it.
In my Jeep, I would have to consciously set myself up so that I could fully release the clutch to crawl through the obstacle so that I wouldn't "ride" the clutch too much. Also, while it is done with a little experience, heel/toe driving is more difficult on the trail and having an auto takes that need out of the equation.

I'd stick with the automatic too. Why bother when it's not a little two-seater sports car?

Manual all the way!! If you aren't used to it, you will be after driving it for a while.
