John Schumacher is no stranger to tricked-out cars and trucks. As the owner of
Hummers Gone Wild, Schumacher and his company customize mighty Hummers to meet
all their clients’ needs.

But nothing prepared Schumacher for what he saw
as the World of Outlaws Sprint Series raced at Volusia Speedway Park earlier
this month. Schumacher was in Florida delivering to DIRT MotorSports customized
Hummer H2s that will serve as Official Pace Trucks for World of Outlaws Sprint
Series and World of Outlaws Stacker 2 Late Model Series events in
2005.

When he saw his bright yellow Hummer H2 with its supercharged
engine, 16-inch lift kit, oversized tires and deluxe chrome trim setting the
pace in front of a field consisting of some of the best sprint-car racers in the
world, Schumacher couldn’t help but smile. But it wasn’t until after the H2
pulled into the pits and 26 cars screamed toward the green flag on Volusia’s
half-mile clay oval that Schumacher fully understood how high the level of
racing was in World of Outlaws events.

“I didn’t know what to expect,” he
said. “I didn’t realize how fast and exciting those cars are. That’s the one
thing I never imagined. They are absolutely the most thrilling things I’ve seen
in a long time.

“It’s a very, very exciting series. Those sprint cars are
unbelievable.”

Like many fans, Schumacher was hooked on the World of
Outlaws after only one feature. Now he is making plans to be at as many events
as possible in 2005, and he has people lining up to attend races he can’t
make.

“I’m going to at least 10 to 15 races this year and I’ll have some
of my representatives from Hummers Gone Wild attend others,” Schumacher said.
“Vegas is my next stop. I can’t wait. I love Vegas and I love the speedway
there.”

Even though the handling is superb, racing chassis builders can
relax because there are no plans for an H2 version of a sprint car. Schumacher
believes a roof-mounted wing might distract from the look of the powerful
machine. However, he has no doubt his customized Hummer pace car could circle a
half-mile dirt track at 70 mph or more.

Fans can next see the Hummer H2
Pace Truck at World of Outlaws Sprint Series events Feb. 25 at Thunderbowl
Raceway in Tulare, Calif., and Feb. 26 at Bakersfield Speedway.

awsome. it's always good to see a member of the community garner success. Btw does anyone know the name of that lift kit company? 2 guys in town, 1 white truck, 1 black truck, both have that lift, but i have yet to get a hold of them to ask. a good friend of mine is looking to lift his rig and i assume that brand is good based on the use by a bunch of people.....btw: congrats Gone Wild!!

Probably a Full Throttle Suspension. HGW has one on their site that says it is custom by HGW and Full Throttle.

By the way, I just noticed the article says 16 inch lift.

Just so everybody knows do not start trying to cut into My territory. I have been working talking with John about driving or at least riding with Him when I can so it is a done deal so back off. Seriously when I saw what he was going to be doing I called Him and I have made plans to either go and ride with Him and later if he feels comfortable I asked to drive for Him. I have other business ventures that we are discussing. He is a great person. As nice a guy and helpful as I have met. I would be glad to be associated with Him. He is for sure an asset to our group of the Hummer world as well as our site.

To All:

I had no idea this was posted on here! In fact, it is a press release I have not even read yet.

I did not want to clog the forum on this subject.

I have been busy building the second H2 for the series. It will be a black SUV with all the equipment you see on the yellow plus some new equipment as my sponsors start to provide their products.

I have three weeks to build it, and have not yet found a black SUV--someone cancelled one on me without even telling me until days later. We are assembling the parts and will put it together in five days once I get one. We are looking for a used, low miles black SUV.

Next year, I will provide two more--brand new ones with higher lifts and better electronics.

There is a typo on it. That H2 is lifted 8" with another two inches for tires---total lift 10"--we can do 15-16 inch lifts here for those who dare.

I also have a TV spot being shot right now--"Building a Trick H2" which will show on CNN airport news and 394 public televsion stations, and other places to be determined.

I have some killer video which I will post in a few weeks--no time to edit it.

I will keep you posted on this if you are interested. I have three other race series that want my H2's--just too much to do here right now.

Thanks-John

John do not forget We need to get together when You can. If i need to fly to you to talk just let me know and I'll make arrangements. I have some good things happening on My end especially yesterday 2/24. Alot of excitement in this area about the potential for what We are talking about. I'm going to a meeting 2/25/05 at noon central to keep doors open here. We can most likely cover on phone what you and i need, but this may be bigger than what i first thought when We talked last and would be happy to come to you if need be to get this rolling as We may need more sit down time together to organise and structure this. If We have to wait 2 or 3 weeks i can handle situation here until You get caught up on Your builds, but these people are excited more than i dreamed they would. There are some questions that have come up that when time comes you definetely will need to answer and guide on.
Give me a quick call if you get a chance. This is stupid I dropped My PDA with My numbers in it and have a tech working on retrieving them. The number You gave Me was in it. I have been so trustng of the technology I did not have hard copy backups but do have computer backups but not since i put the number You gave me in it.
I have to come to NY in mid May but hope it does not take that long to get together but will be an added trip to have available. If I get to visit You on business I can write some of it off. My daughter is going to be singing at Carnigie Hall with Her college choral group who won competions last summer to earn the trip and usually She sings a solo or 2 but they have not decided yet as they are deciding on the program format etc. Well anyway I'm a proud Daddy and happy but would allow us an extra meeting for Me to get over to Your shop if needed.
I have a couple of suggestions of some thoughts i have had last few days about which direction to take My intial idea We discussed.
Sorry or i would call.
Congratulations
TAZ (Rick)

Great to see H2's on the Race Track! Our "Track Time" SUT will also be making appearances at tracks this summer, in an effort to tribute (and recruit) the men & women who work in motorsports race rescue. It would be very cool to have our "Ultimate Race Rescue Vehicle" doing a few laps with the "Gone Wild" H2! Nice Work! Also.. Thanks to those of you who stopped by the Chicago Auto Show to say hello & see this 770HP beast. Take Care...

the World of Outlaws is on the Outdoor Channel right now 7:00pm central time and it is the Volusia race referenced in the press release above. They are showing the heat races now but I saw the HGW yellow Hummer with it's lights on in the infield.

I'm sure they'll be showing better shots of it.

Well, in the city I have Dish Network (where I am now) and it's channel 153. It's the Outdoor Channel not OLN.

I have DirecTV down at the farm and I don't remember having the Outdoor Channel on there. I'll ask my wife if she remembers.

But no, not channel 608, different network all-together

I looked it up on DTV and it's channel 606 but I don't have that channel available down at the farm so I am not sure if you have it or not.
