I want to install my XM radio (skyfi bracket) in front of the sunroof and behind the upper roof console. Is the sheet metal behind the headliner part of the internal gutter sys.? Can I put a screw threw it? Thanks for any help.

Don't know about the Skyfi, but the Commander module fits perfectly on the back of the overhead console right in front of the sunroof. Looks very OEM to me.

Do you have any pics of the Commander unit and how you ran the antenna wire? I'm considering getting the commander also!

TT, I don't have any but I'll sure take some, especially for a fellow Vol fan. I didn't install it so I'm not sure about the wiring--I just know I can't see it. I'll try to take a pic or two tomorrow.

I was thinking about the xm commander , I'd like to see some pics also..

that looks swesome. I have a question. My wife has an 04 suburban with the xm. The unit looks the same as the one in my h2. If I buy one thry chevy, will it fit and work with xm in my H2???

This is an almost impossible task. The actual XM Tuner is a separate box mounted under the dash. This box "learns" the VIN of the vehicle it is installed in, and will display "XM Lock" if used in a different vehicle.

Unlike the head units, the XM tuner boxes cannot be unlocked by dealers. GM will NOT sell new XM tuners, nor will they unlock used units.

In the past, a few people have managed to get new boxes from dealers. This has dried up, however.

I just had a client install the xm commander. the unit and the install were $206. thanks for all of your help
