Hey guys and gals, I just got an H3 a couple of weeks ago and am looking to put a navigation system in it. I was slooking at some and came across the Eclipse AVN6600. Its a brand new system, and is about to come out in about a month. I was wondering if any of you guys know anything about this particular model or the eclipse name as a whole. I am planning to wire it to the DVD headrests that I got with the H3 promotion but am not sure if the dvd headrests are able to be connected like that. I was also looking at the fact that the nav is a 4 channel system. I dont really know much about this stuff but I thought that the channels are the individual speakers. Is the factory 6 disc in dash chager Monsoon sytem a 4 channel, 6 channel or how many? If I go from the 6 disc changer with the monsoon setup to the Eclipse nav with the speakers the same, will I be loosing on any quality or functionality. I would appreciate any comments and help. Thanks!

I have an eclipse but I didnt have the monsoon system. The eclipse sounds better and goes louder than the base radio.I have had no problems with it or related systems.I beleve you can hook up other monitors to it.And I think I have 6 speakers they all work.

The 6600 is a great piece if you have the need to play dvd's at the same time as the nav is being used (it has 2 onboard dvd players). The Eclipse is really great equipment with very pure sound and excellent build quality. You will be gaining in both quality and functionality except you will lose the 8 disc in dash (you could add an 8 disc back to the system if you need to). The 6600 is iPod and Sirius ready (full text on both) and has the latest nav updates.

Are you installing it yourself ?
Also how muck is the avn6600 ?
Make sure you get a rear camera .

Mine shares the dvd /nav you can only use one or the other.

I will have someone else install it for me, I'm not too knowledgeble of car electrical or audio/video systems. The system costs about 1800. And I am definetely getting the rear camera. Do any of you guys know if I can use this system with XM instead of Sirius directly with the system itself, not with a separately dash mounted player or things like that. Thanks alot for your help!
