carwash/mirrors
I took my hummer to a carwash on two seperate occassions; they manually moved them. One mirror broke on one visit and the other broke on another visit. I think these are the old style mirrors because I have a 2003 Hummer.
We always moved them automatically, and they worked just fine. Now it just seems odd that they both break at the car was when they forced them manually. On 2 seperate occassions. It seems as if the carwash owner thinks he shouldn't have to pay for replacing the mirrors.
DO YOU THINK THEY WILL BREAK QUICKER IF THEY ARE FORCED TO MOVE IN AND OUT MANUALLY?
Please HELP; any Hummer techs or anyone with similar experience or knowledge in this area.
Thanks,
JDD

They were designed to be moved both manually and by using the "Mirror-Fold-in" actuator switch on the drivers armrest. Here is a link to a similar post:

Re: carwash/mirrors
If you have '03 mirrors, just take the truck in and complain. The dealer will replace them with the new style, FREE!

I should also mention that you should just tell the dealer that the mirrors are shaking when you drive. You don't have to tell them you broke them.

Re: carwash/mirrors
I have an '03. We just told our dealer they sometimes get stuck and he replaced them with the new style. Hint for all H2 owners approaching 3yr/36K miles our dealer also said make a hit list of all issues before warranty runs out and they will fix them for us. I thought that was a nice touch.

Please be noted that KenP has participated in an attempt to defraud the dealership. He will now be added to Klaus's signature with HummThis.
That is all.
