New H2 Owner
I picked up a new to me 2005 H2 SUV last week. Its a 2005 in yellow in basically brand new condition. The main reason I got it was because it only has 26,000 miles on it. The original owner took immaculate care of it.
I browsed around looking for a good hummer forum to join, and this one seems to be the most active. I hope this board continues to stay active even though the brand is gone. I belong to about 10 different boards with topics ranging from guns to motorcycles, so I understand that a board is only as good as it's members.
I'm on the look out for parts to move the spare tire to the outside of the vehicle, so if anyone has any leads on someone selling their parts, please let me know. I have checked Craigslist and eBay with no luck as of yet.
I already installed my Kenwood navigation unit in the dash, and ran the iPod cable into the center console.
Here are some pics:

Re: New H2 Owner
26,000 miles, nice find! Getting hard to find low mileage H2's these days.
Welcome and agree this still is the best forum for H2 information. Not as active as days of old but still some really knowledgeable folks on here.

I am in a nice little hidden gated community in the South East near Warm Springs and Eastern. I have been in Vegas for 2 years after growing up in California. I must say getting the F out of California was one of the best decisions I have ever made!

WOW! Great find, you got a real nice one! There's not that many under 35,000 mile H2s left out there. Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Congrats on the great find and welcome to the forum. I moved out of CA in 1999 and moved to Vegas myself.

Re: New H2 Owner
Looks great! I bought mine(now my wifes) nine months ago with 70k on it and thought that was good mileage. Your's looks brand new. Keep checking Craigslist, I see those rear tire carriers on there quite often. As a fellow newbie to H2's I'll share some of my discoveries. Make sure you check all of the marker lights for good seals. Several of mine were leaking. You just go nuts with some clear silicone to fix. Check the drain holes for your sunroof. I ran weedeater line down through mine. I also replaced my air bags with factory springs and installed bilstien shocks. I would reccomend the springs but not the bilstien's. Rancho would probably have been a better option. I have found a lot of good information on here. Good luck and welcome.

Re: New H2 Owner
Welcome and great find. I bought mine in 09 with 24,700 miles.
I just got the Rancho shocks and they don't seem as stiff as the OEM ones. Was thinking I should have gone Bilsteins but sounds like wasp1971 is saying no. sounds like OEM might be the ticket.
I'll throw In a tip. Rattles at highway speed that sound like your sunroof is going to blow off is an easy fix. It's your window molding coming loose. Take it off on each side and re-silicone it to get rid of the rattles.
This is the best forum I've found, although I haven't hung out at x club much. People here are great. Even the new guys that come along are nice.
Enjoy!

Pretty much going to leave it as is. I did however pick up an outside spare tire mount from Craigslist, but other then that I'll leave it be.
Someone also mentioned the air ride system, this one has shocks, I can't tell if it ever had an air system in it or not.
Also, the windshield molding seems to be pretty secure, I don't get any wind noise, but will keep that in mind.

If you look under the back of the truck you'll have shocks and either coil springs or airbags. If it does/did have air ride I think you'd have some buttons on the center dash console to raise/lower the rear end.
I didn't get the rattles for a while either. I was in the hunt for a sunroof deflector, thinking that was the problem, when someone suggested the window moldings.
Enjoy!

Definitely has shocks in the back, and no missing switches in the dash so my thinking is it didn't come with the air system.

Re: New H2 Owner
What I was saying is all Hummer H2s, air ride or not, have shocks.
If you look around the area of the shocks, you'll see either coil springs or if you don't see coiled springs you'll see air bags. Air bags don't stick out as much as a coiled spring to someone who doesn't know what air bags look like.

Mine didn't have any noises either until ~30K miles. Trust me, yours will given time. No biggie. It's a very easy fix. Easy Ed has a great pictorial on what to do to remove the moulding. The only deviation I made was to leave the double sided tape as-is and simply run a small bead of silicone and then replace the moulding. EasyPeazy.

Re: New H2 Owner
Welcome to the club May I ask how much you paid for the H2? Mine has about 22600 miles on it.
