How do I remove the driver seat cover?
I'd like to remove the lower driver seat cover, because on the door side the stitches have broken, so I'll have to remove the seat cover to have the rest of the stitches removed, and then redone again on a sewing machine so it looks like new.
Any tips on how to remove the lower driver seat cover easily? That is the only part of all the seats that need sewing.

Re: How do I remove the driver seat cover?
Cashville,
It is held on by plastic clips.
The clips themselves are very thick and sturdy so you dont have to really worry about breaking them
Given, I pulled my seats out to take off the seat covers which I find alot easier when you are trying to stretch them back on.
If you look under the seat, and behind the back you will see the clips holding it onto the metal frame.
Just roll them off the frame of the seat on all four sides and away it goes
Of course you will have to take off any plastic moulding pieces to get to it (ie. the cover for the seat where all the electric controls are at)
Hope ths helps
If you have any issues let me know

Re: How do I remove the driver seat cover?
very interesting, I know it sounds dumb, but I never realized the seats had covers on them! lol.. I would have thought you needed to buy whole new seats, and I have seen the prices on those!
The post here in the classified section from the guy on ebay that has the $99 new Sedona covers, I see now how that's a great deal...

Re: How do I remove the driver seat cover?
I have the h2 parked in a place with no electricity, so I started removing the lower seat but didn't finish the job because night started to fall. I've got almost all the seat removed, I got the foam+seat disconnected from there, but I haven't removed the back end.
Here is where I'm at:
I can see the pins holding down the cover to the metal, but they are very strong. What do I need to do here, I presume I need to squeeze the head of the pins in order for them to pass through the holes, releasing everything? Because I tried a couple of times and they were very hard and didn't want to go through the holes. Lol.
I'll try to finish the job tomorrow, but this part was not being easy at all, and the light was fading out which wasn't helping.

Re: How do I remove the driver seat cover?
Cashville,
I might be able to translate what you are saying or the picture too well, and if thats the case I apologize.... BUT it looks like you are basically there.
The rear has the same type of setups on the cover so all you need to do is attack the rear from the back of the seat, which if you havent already.... remove the plastic from the back area and work it from the back. The pins (dpending on the wear of the plastic can possibly break but when I looked at them they seemed to be of the same tough plastic)
As I said, recovering will be the fun part since it is stretched on there to begin with, it will need to be restrecthed.
As for the seat cover, yes they DID sell them at one time through GM, but now they dont. Now you have to buy the whole seat or the cushion.
I was shocked when they told me the price I was like I could get custom one off seats MADE for less then that (and tht was the discounted price)

Re: How do I remove the driver seat cover?
Finished removing it today. I was focusing on taking out the wrong pins. Lol.
I was taking out the ones from the frame, when I should have been taking the other long plastic ones.
Thanks for the help
