Sunroof Rattle
Has anyone else had any problems with their sunroof? I've had my H2 for three years and for the past two years the sunroof makes a rattling noise when driving over 40 mph. If it's windy outside you basically can't even hold a conversation inside the vehicle. It sounds as though there's a loose part that's rattling. The noise does not occur when the sunroof is closed. I've had the dealer replace the deflector and they have also adjusted/tightened the sunrood three times. Any ideas/suggestions on a fix?

Re: Sunroof Rattle
Remove the deflector as it causes all the noise problems and really serves no purpose anyway.
I removed my about 2 months ago and completely changed the noise level.
Remove it and take it on the highway. You will be surprised how much noise that piece of plastic can make.

So, it doesn't help to deflect air when driving with the sunroof open?

I took mine off as well. That deflector does minimize the airflow into the open roof somewhat. It does add to teh noise level though too. On my SUT, those brackets that mount to the deflector even caused a leaking sunroof.
I agree on removing it all together and go for a ride.

Re: Sunroof Rattle
Mine actually rattles when it's completely closed! At speed, I can see it moving around...I need to have it checked...

Re: Sunroof Rattle
I've got a loud rattle too, but mine seems to be coming from the passenger side windshield area. It doesn't seem like its the deflector to me, and it only happens above 65 mph. I plan on taking it back to the dealer at some point and see what they do about it.

Re: Sunroof Rattle
I removed wind deflector, coated entire bottom of rubber with clear RTV silicone and reinstalled it. I did this on my 06 wheen it was 2 months old. No more problem. The factory brackets are pretty flimsy. I also put 2 stainless bolts and nuts in brackets replacing those ugly 1 1/2 sheetmetal screws. The Rebel

Re: Sunroof Rattle
I actually have the same problem as H2bill had described. Bugs the Sh#t out of me.
