Hello all and thank goodness for this site...I have a question I am hoping I can get some assistance on. I have a new birch white H3 with 305/50/20 Toyo open countries. What I am wondering is if there is any aftermarket (besides mudflaps) item which can be placed on fenders to protect from everyday road debris as well as rocks flying during four wheeling. I know there is some type of 3m tape you can buy but didnt know if something better is out there specifically for this use.......Thanks all

You really should consider the mudflaps- not only do they protect the fenders but they keep mud and crap off the whole side of the truck.

I was reluctant to put them on at first but it's been the best "upgrade" I've done so far.

I bought a protection kit like you are thinking of for my H3 but never installed it since the mudflaps work so good.

I did install the 3M clear protection on my white Buick Rainier in front of the rear fenders because they stick out and are prone to chipping. I spent 2 hours cutting and fitting the right shapes and then applying them only to have them come off in the first car wash I went through.

Check out 3M's Clear Mask kits. If I recall, fstop is getting ready to install his but it didn't look like it matched.

There are pre-cut kits on ebay and 3M has the protective film in rolls. Check the links below:

Went down late last week and got a ~$250-$300 quote from a local Rhinoliner dealer for the fenders up to the edge of the body (that little rubber piece).

I have a black H3 and am really torn on what to do since I spend a lot of time driving in the pacific NW woods - I went out last weekend after having my H3 for a week and put a few very nice scratches in the fenders. I haven't looked @ the front, but the rear fenders are removeable so in a few years when I upgrade to a V8, I can always get new fenders and replace (or take a hit on resale because of the rhinolining). Mudflaps are in the garage and go on this weekend...

thanks dave....will research the rhino lining as well. in the meantime will most likely install mud flaps as a preventive step.

this site is great....thanks again to all...
