After mounting my lights (remember those ) I noticed it was going to cause an issue with the license plate holder. I really liked the one provided by Warn but it wouldn't allow the hood to open fully. I thought about moving the license plate but I didn't want to burn three more threads getting it in the right place . Necesity being the mother of invention, I went to the local hardware store. I bought some spring loaded hinges and and broke out the tools . A little cutting and welding (took about 2 hours) and this is what I came up with. It works Perfect. The hood opens fully and there is no issues with the lights (except for their big ) This would be a nice thing for Warn to include in their winch/bumper package.

NICE JOB!
With the light bar I made, the license plate would have blocked the lights on mine.

And since I don't have welding skilz, I got out my sheet metal bender and modified the plate instead. Took five minutes.

Do you have any side shots of this. It's kinda hard to get a perspective of where things are from a front view.

I keep mine in the driver side door pocket. Since I have the winch on front 100% of the time, I don't think they notice that it's missing. I think they are in awe of how good it looks, and how someone with an H2 will actually get it muddy.

Just go out to Northern Tools and pick up a little 120wire feed welder.
Just buy some scrap metal and start playing around and seeing what kinda cool sparks come out of it.
You can get yourself one hell of a tan while your at it!

Ric-H2 </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Yeah, I need to get one of those flux core MIGs to play with also. I am tired of my novice ugly welds with our plain old arc welder.

Im honered. Hummer Man is back! Thanks for the response (i think) .

I agree about the flux core machine. Throw in a auto darkening hood an it's a piece of cake. You will truly be suprised by how easy it is .

I will take a picture from the side and post it later............................................. ...........Hummer Man............thats wierd.
