What we knew but did not want to hear.
No more GM Hummer. Its official.
DETROIT - April 27, 2009: In an early morning live press conference today, Fritz Henderson, General Motors' President and CEO, announced that the company's North American plans are to move ahead with only four core brands: Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC and Buick. Henderson said that after long careful analysis that GM sees no hope for the Pontiac brand.
In addition, Mr. Henderson talked about the possibility of GM having to go into re-organization, if necessary, in a very real matter-of-fact way.
The complete live press conference was presented on TheAutoChannel.com and an archived version will be available shortly after the conclusion of the live event

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
i liked the part about the depreciation of our trucks...and the fact the goverment will be in charge of our warranties if the brand is sold...im sure getting warranty work done will be super easy when that happens

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
Besides buying used Hummers, I will never buy GM again. Where they used to have balls down there, they evidently have cun%& just like our Government. Yeah, Chavez and Ackmaddenajad (I really do not give a crap how to spell his name) are gonna be nice to you. As long as you are weakening this country you piece of crap. I can't buy Ford and Chrysler sucks a D. I guess I will buy my wife a Toyota or something.

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
I really like the way the goverment is dictating how this money is spent, when there still wasting it. Like that fly-over in New York Today of Air Force One & a Fighter Jet. I wonder how much that cost us Tax payers??
They say Big Business is wasting money

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
the New York "Flyover Photo Op" cost roughly $350,000
but that does not include the cost of all the therapy new yorkers are going through in the weeks to come.
Funny how our new president is supposed to be so 'sensitive'
What an A Hole!! I honestly am amazed at how incredibly inept he is.
Without a teleprompter he's like a blubbering idiot.

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
That flyover is HIIIIlarious. Those libs in NY deserve to look at what they have done up close. Seriously, an administration that makes that call is in charge of this country. Scaaaary. Could they have not taking the pictures with no plane and then photoshopped it or computerized it? And I did not go to Harvard and my ideas are more rational.
The freaking US makes me laugh. Waah water boarding is harsh. So is geting your head cut off by one of those Pieces of crap. You tell me which one you would want.

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
As a long time ago AF pilot I can tell you that the last thing that flyover had to do with was a photo op - just a gut feeling. You don't need fighter escorts for photo ops. If you believe it was just a photo flyover, I have some real estate in the Everglades for you. My gut feeling is that it was testing some kind of defense system that is secret in the NYC area plus ECM testing.

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
"DETROIT – Some soccer moms will have to give up hulking SUVs. Carpenters will still haul materials around in pickup trucks, but they will cost more. Nearly everybody else will drive smaller cars, and more of them will run on electricity. The higher mileage and emissions standards set by the Obama administration on Tuesday, which begin to take effect in 2012 and are to be achieved by 2016, will transform the American car and truck fleet.
Automakers have said they need stable, relatively high gasoline prices to create a market for electric vehicles. General Motors fears rolling out its rechargeable Chevrolet Volt next year with gas at $2 per gallon"
Yeah, we lose our rights to drive what we want, but a woman has a right to kill a baby after a night of hoeing around. Way to go you liberal piece of craps!

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
Been kinda backwards for me, before the economy went bad I was hurting, but now it seems the worse it gets the better we do. Last month was our highest sales in 14 years!
The business is a Internet Colocation Facility.
Weird stuff this economy tho, very weird.

Re: What we knew but did not want to hear.
Yea we are all dissapointed and angry over the way things are going, but let's try and remember that out of all the auto companys in the world GM produced some of the best vehicles at fair prices and was always at the forfront in leading edge tech. when these dark days pass I'm sure GM will be back better than ever .

I think it's been crazy for most of us!!!!
I got raked last year and suffered, but this year is looking much better.
I think it really boils down to creative ways to make money.

I 150% agree with that. GM pre Gov't ownership was awesome. I hate to see what kind of environmental wack job they get to run it now. We'll be Fred Flintstoning these things while the politicians will be taking their double decker Airplanes with a basket ball court. All I can say is it is going to get even weirder.
