Redoing forum layout
Can someone see if they can talk Jason into redoing these forums, it's pretty clear this is mainly an H2 forum, it just makes sense to wrap it around that category as it would attract more members over being just another forum.
On the other hand
This forum could easily be made into the leading forum if they layed it out like other forums I visit such as
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/index.php
This is without a doubt the best layed out forum I've ever been too, it has the model layout with submodels, it goes into depth on the different drive train components (different sized engines, rear ends, tranny etc)
Goes to suspension
and has a how-to forum
I think it would be really cool if they could model this forum after that, giving it a more friendly layout would definately attract more people and keep more people, the layout now is so wideopen and bland.

They are all there....just hidden like "The WoodShed". Doubt there is even anyone left here that knows about that.

They haven't initiated anyone into the Woodshed in a while. I think there are only a handful of Woodshed Quiet Hummer Men left.

In order to justify that many subcategories in a Hummer forum you would need as many Hummers sold as there are S10's in order to generate a sufficient number of posts to justify all the subcategories. It's never going to happen.

Re: Redoing forum layout
yea, there are 8.5 million posts on that site VS 0.5 here. This site has nothing close to the traffic it used to have.
There really are not that many options to even justify subgrouping. The few sites that have a seperate SUT forum- Most of those posts are generic and not unique to the SUT.
I do think this site is the most valuable resource for H2 information....nothing comes close to the archive history here. I dont want to say there isn't anything left to be discovered, but i'd bet 99.5% of any H2 issue can be found documented here if you search.
I would pay good money to have archived dvds of this site for safe keepings. Who knows....we could all be getting a 404 on this site tomorrow.

Good luck with that. I've sent Jason several PMs and never once have I received a PM back.
I understand that this forum is not as popular as it once was but it's people like us that are keeping this place alive.
As owner of this forum, I can't believe he's too busy to help us to help him.
I do all I can do but if he can't be bothered to respond to my/our needs, I don't know what else to do.

Re: Redoing forum layout
I would love access too. If he needs more posts, I can come in more often-not a problem. Plus, I have plenty more to do on my rig that will need documenting too.
Honestly, we are probably becoming the world's experts on these trucks anyways day by day. Not to mention, the only reason I am here is because I did some searching one day to troubleshoot an issue on my truck and this forum had more answers, more of the best answers. Since joining I can honestly say that I have become somewhat of an expeert myself- or so I like to think
