[img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif[/img] You can download .mp3 files from the internet and convert them to .wav files using EZ-CD Creator or NERO but the H2s (6) CD changer will not decode .mp3 files.
(.wav file cd can hold up to 20 songs) give or take
(.mp3 file cd can hold up to 160 songs) give or take

You can upgrade the deck to an Alpine deck like the DVA 7996 which will also play .mp3 files & DVDs

When you make a CD, the software converts what ever type of media you have, wav, mp3 whatever to a readable file which is placed on the CD. I have taken mp3, mpg, avi, wav whatever and made them into readable formats for my CD's. I have down loaded music in various formats and done this.

You can backup an mp3 file on a CD and it won't play. Being an MP3 file has NOTHING (well it actually does, but I'm explaining something here) to do with it. What does matter is the directory. The directory is what points to the specific file on the CD so the CD Player can play the song. But to make a directory, the software converts all files to a common file and that is stored on the CD. MP3 Players are unique cuz you can down load mp3 songs WITHOUT converting them and they play, as well as the unbelievable use of disc space and the ability to compact these files to small amounts of data.

You are wanting to play CD's with no directory and containing all mp3 songs correct?

When you make the CD's they are converted, but that is not what you are wanting to do.

Yes I was a little confused [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif[/img] I was hoping that the upgraded CD player in the H2 would play my .mp3 files. I have a Rio CD player that I use in the gym that holds over 600 minutes of music on one 700mb CD. Same with my DVD player at home it will play .mp3's as well. To bad the stock upgrade does not do this, it is great on long drives to be able to burn hours of music on one cd. Can you imagine if it read .mp3? You would have a 6 CD changer with the capability of having 3600 minutes of music, WOW. Anyway, thanks to HumDog for the clarification and of course HeeHaw for raising my hopes and then dashing them (screw it I’m going to cancel my H2 now).
