Re: Rockford Fosgate Stereo upgrade
iirx, this is a direct plug and play setup.
there are some people who do have it installed, and all have mentioned that it does add some bass but each have mentioned that they werent fully satisified with it in some way or another.
im sure you can find there posts if you search for it.
honestly, for the price $500, i could buy high end door speakers and a sub and amp of better quality than that whole package.
$200 to $300 for component door speakers (Focal, MB Q, Boston A, ect..)
$100 for a 10 inch sub.
$70 for a H2 sub box for under the rear seat for a 10 inch sub
$100 for a 4 channel amp
i run a aftermarket deck, but even with a stock deck you can easily tap the speakers for the amp. so gettign it to work with the system is not a issue.
the stock door speakers arent too bad ( unless your are blown or whatever)
if you are just looking to add bass, i would tap the sub thats in the center console to power an amp. from there hook up a 10 inch in a box under the seat.
that basically is what i am running right now, except for the deck. a 10 inch sub adds a decent amount of bass in the cabin, just dont fool yourself in to thinking that you are going to win any bumping contests or compete with someone who has a pure dedicated system.
the deck im running is a Pioneer's AVH-P4000DVD. its a good deck, and overall im fine with it. my biggest complaint is not enough RCA outs on it.
