Default Truxxx vs. Rancho.

I get a lot of messages asking how much difference there is between the Truxxx lift kit (keys / spacers) and a full Rancho lift kit. I had my Truxxx kit cranked all the way and it was the kit with a spacer in the rear, they rate the kit at 2.5-3 front and 1.25 rear. Mine seemed to sit even higher in the rear cause of the spare tire delete. The Rancho is a 4" and seemed more like 6". The 37"s used to scuff lightly on 20x10's with Truxxx and scuff even more on the 24x12's, with the Rancho kit I can U turn at full tilt and not rub at all. I hope this can serve as a rough guide for all you guys.

BELOW (RANCHO) After

Plus Rancho kit 40"s

lol i love the fact that you still have your spare on the back, but you run 40 inchers... that spare doesnt look like a 40 incher.....

so just out of curiousity, why did you stack the lifts when all you needed was a 2 inch lift to run 40 inch tires?

you should be able to run 39 inch tires stock, with out any mods/lifts?

so for 40's, all you needed was a 2 inch lift..

Are you serious Hellz???
One thing on the spare tire... well.. yes, its still a 35", why? cuz I dont care about the spare tire, anything happens to one of those pitbulls (which I highly doubt btw) and I'll just have AAA pick me up, plus it holds my license plate and I dont feel like spending another thousand dollars on a 5th set up that I can't ever use after my other 4 tires are more than 40% gone cuz it will eventually will F up my differential or something... either way, eeeh Anyways...

On the lift, You can't fit 39s on a stock suspension... are you kidding? I could barely fit my 38s.. and they were Squizzed WITH a 3" leveling kit... So your question is, Why did I have to get a lift to fit 40s...I didn't get a lift to fit 40s, I got a lift because I wanted to, I take my sh*t offroad and scratch the hell out of it and I dont care, it performs better on and offroad and it just so happens that I can fit 40s without any rubbing issues, that's why I have 40s, h3ll I could probably fit 42s but I didn't feel like it, try fitting those with a leveling kit, let me know if it works.

Just asking because I dont know.. Im thinking about getting the Rancho 4" lift if it had to be taken off and the put back to factory can it be done with out major issue. I see on some kits you have cut parts off during install. Living in europe I might have to ship my Hummer back state side one day and the lift might have to come off to ship it.

You will have to cut part of the differencial in order to instal it into their main frame that comes with the kit. I will not go back to stock very easily.

thanks ROUSHDEMON for the info, I want to lift mine but its either cost way to much over here in Germany to get a shop here to do it and to do it myself, yeah I'm not at that skill level yet.

how much are they charging you to lift it? with a new kit it should take them 6-8 hours to complete.

Its the euro to $$ convertion thats hurting me. I can get the rancho kit from the states for $2,300 + or - with shipping but then no one wants to install it because its not there kit, warranty issues, blah blah blah and for there kit its uppwards of 10,000 euro + so still shopping around. I have a few guys that are much better with the wrench than i that might help me.

If you want a reverseable lift without all the cutting try BulletProof, but its going to be 6 or 12 inch..

How about Fabtech? I thought you didn't have to cut anything for their kit, anyone with a Fabtech?

The Fabtech kit you have to cut and weld, which is out of my skill level for sure. Then were getting into the 6-12 in range again and with being in europe with small roads and low bridges. I'm already at 2 meters 15cm high @ my light bar now.
