Tire pressure sensors and aftermarket wheels
I better post this in the H2 forums for you gurus.
I just got an 08 H2 and put my aftermarket 22 inch rims with nitto terra grapplers tires. My tire pressure sensors finally after like 3 days figured out I had new rims on. Hah so much for the sensor knowing whats going on. I could have gotten a flat and it wouldnt have known for 3 days!
Anyways I got the idiot light on the dash now. Can you just take the valve with the tire pressure sensors in them out of the stock tires and put them into the aftermarket tires? Should a tire shop do this or can it manually be done?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Tire pressure sensors and aftermarket wheels
Is this the same ride that you just took on vacation and got a flat tire on the way home?
That sucked
Wheres the pic of the new ride, lets see her
How do the 22s feel when in the drivers seat moving, hows your mileage?
Thanks Hucky

What make/model of TPSM do you have? With some you must simply reset the brain.

No that was my yellow 03 H2, that I just traded in at the dealer. Those were the stock OEM rims and tires because it was winter and I take my chromes off in Ohio due to snow and salt/rusting.
I havnt taken pics of the 08 yet, I'm transferring alot of parts from my 03 that I took off, putting TVs in, subs, tints, corsa exhaust, airaid filter, HID Bi xenon lights, accessories, etc.
So far its leagues ahead of the 03 H2, interior is way nicer, rides alot nicer goes over bumps without even feeling them sometimes, 6 speed is awesome, 400 hp is great, rear air condioning plus full 3rd row seats great.
I had to pickup a bridal party when one of my limos had a problem this week and fit 3 full size guys, one bigger guy in the 3rd row, and they all fit. 8 people total, rear air vents in the roof for the 2nd and 3rd row worked great they said the air was awesome in the 3rd row.
HID lights are not an option, which is CRAP because the escalade comes with them STANDARD. Its not even an option. Displacement on demand is not on the car as far as I know, which is also CRAP, because other GM cars have it again the Escalade.
I seem to be getting about the same gas milage about 12.2mpg but I dont have my airaid air filter and corsa exhaust put on that I took off the 03 H2, that should bump gas a little. But I have noticed times where the car averages 16-18mpg but overall its been around 12. I dont use alot of highway driving personally, but when this car is chaufered with my limo service that 5th and 6th gear should help out alot.
I have not lost any gas milage since I've had the 22's w/ nitto terra grapplers tires. Ive had these rims and tires for like 1.5 years , only had them on the 08 H2 for 3 days so far.

I dont know what version the TPSM is. I just got an 08 H2 the tire pressure sensors are part of the factory install now due to govt regulations. Not sure if this is the first year for this on H2's or not.
The rims are 22 Inch American Racing Wolverine Chrome rims with Nitto Terra Grappler tires.
I searched the forums and found alot of threads about the H3's tire pressure sensors, where they said the actual sensor is in the Valve stem. If the system is the same (not sure if it is) people on here said to remove the stem and put that stem in your aftermarket wheels. Anybody done this?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Gotcha. Yeah, I think it is the first year for the H2 factory TPSM. Although I drove a rental '07 Suburban that had it. I'm really only familiar with the after-market systems. Sorry.

Re: Tire pressure sensors and aftermarket wheels
I know there is a procedure when you rotate the tires that tells the system to relearn the wheel location of each monitor but since you swaped rims and tires, not sure what the deal is or even if the system would work.
I would check with the dealer and ask there where the sensor i located and what to do when you swap our rim/tires.
