Default OK what do you think of the FJ Cruiser........

For some reason I fancy getting one of them for my wife - no idea why - it has just stuck in my mind - does anyone here actually have one.

She doesn't want an H3 - and for a moment scared the crap out of me by professing some interest in a ...........................sh1te I cant even type it - OK a Smart Car.

Luckily I talked her out of that insanity, she then fancied a Mini Cooper S - I have driven one of them and it was actually a fun little car to be honest - even with my 6'4" 250lb bulk stuffed in there.

I just want to put her in something a bit more practical and the FJ looks like a good bet.

Rearward vision is severely restricted due to design flaws of multiple wide pillars. Hope she likes cheap plastic because there's lots of it. And be prepared to lift and mod it if you're planning on doing any wheeling more challenging than a gravel driveway.

saw one fixed up at a 4 wheel parts grand opening, looked real capable, at least there are plenty of aftermarket stuff for it. For a daily driver blind spots would be a concern, best bet rent one a couple days and see if it fits

I have driven a couple... FWIW, they get up and go. As for wheeling? IF you plan to do some mods, it will be fun truck!!!! Drty is spot on with the blind spots though. THe side mirrors help quite a bit, but plan on getting used to that.

truthfully i love the fj. My buddy has one of em the TRD edition on a 3.5 inch lift with 33" Mickey T mud terrains. And its a sick rig, him and I always go out offroading and it does incredibly well. I looked at that when i bought mine, i just really disliked the entire seemed like it defeated the purpose of an SUV, but it drives great and looks great, espiacly in the new Desert Storm color!

p.s. may i add the 3 windshield wipers are a really cool, thats one thing im jealous of the fj for

heres my buddy's, a tad dirty after a day of offroading

Thanks for the input - I now have it sitting in the driveway - lets face it - from Smart Car to FJ - that wasn't a bad move.

At least my H1 is sitting there towering over it

Four wipers are more fun, especially if they're Hispanic!

Personally, I think the FJ is super.
