need some transfer case help
We have put a 408 and turbo in an '07 H2. We also put a 4L80 in and a 246 transfer case. The issue is we need to find out what is necessary to make the 4wd work. Just wanting 2wd, 4hi, and 4low. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: need some transfer case help
I think you would be better off removing the encoder motor and rigging up A manual shift method somehow. Then you need A signal to the front diff actuator when in 4wd.

Re: need some transfer case help
Thats the most common suggestion I get. The owner is against it. Any chance you may have info to make it work; new switch, encoder, module, harness?
He also doesnt want to use his original t-case with the adapter shaft fearing it may be a weak link for the horsepower we will make.

Re: need some transfer case help
No idea about your question, but I just wanted to say that conversion looks great so far! Looks like an OEM job.

Re: need some transfer case help
Problem being is in the k-truck with the 246 the pcm communicates with the t-case module which in turn operates the encoder motor. Once the encoder motor finishes the shift it sends the signal back to the t-case module and sends the front diff actuator a signal to engage the front axle. I have no idea how all that would happen with mixed parts. I could send wiring diagrams and related information if you think it would help. I looked at them myself and still was unable to determine how to make it work. Tell your customer the only way to ensure t-case operation acuratly is with a lever anyway, a lever never fails like electronics do.

Re: need some transfer case help
Oh and by the way, nice install. Looks very clean and likley a ton of fun. I put a 406 cid chev in my jeep that makes 400-410hp natural, with a 250 hp shot of nitrous. Surprised more than 1 mustang owners on the street.

Re: need some transfer case help
Good job on the setup. I agree with the numbers your expecting get once all tuned and bugs worked out. Are you using any water/meth. inj. etc. to aid in cooling of intake, heads, etc.? I would like to get to know more about the power add ons mostly. If you get a chance to private message me please do.
It is a shame the owner would not consider using a transfer case off a 3/4 ton Chevy and just go manual shift. You never have to worry about it being in the select you want it in. It was good you tried to steer him in that direction anyway. At least if he has more trouble just because of the electronics mix it will be the case of one of those pay me now or pay me later.
Would really like to know more and cost of project out the door. People just see the hard product cost and really do not understand or get a handle on how much labor it really takes to do these custom jobs. It is not because it is wanted to cost so much blind labor as in you just do not quite know how much labor for sure.
Well again a very good looking job and hope the putting together of the different electronics on the tranny and transfer etc. work out on first shot.
I have a shop working with me that builds nothing but race cars whether ground up or just add roll cage. I'm working with them to do what your doing but, with supercharger. We are only going with manual transfer shift. It is really not a inconvience and the few i have talked to so far think it is really a cool idea to have the extra shift arm in the cab for people to ask them what is that.
Well happy Holiday and hope all goes well. I know it is busy right not but, would like to talk to you more on your setup.
