Default Coil Spacers?

I do not want a large lift for the rig but I would like a little pick me up. I have the torsion bar key lift or aka leveling kit which is great with the 37's but I dont have them at full extension just yet. I have seen spacers for the rear that are about 1 1/4" to 2 1/4' for the rear. does anyone have expierence with these? I have heard that they are dangerous? Is this true and if so Why? the next question I have is will i need to extend my shocks to do these or will stock accomodate them? the final question I have is what height can i really expect from them? Any knowledge or opions are great and thanks for the help.

B

sorry for the long read.

I just put coil spacers on my H2. I took it offroading last week and had no problems. I used Supermaxx torsion keys and coil spacers. It added 1.5 inches. I bought them from Trail Duty. You can see the results on in the photo section of this site. The heading is 2003 H2 with 40x13.50x18's. Here is there link.

those look reat and i really wish i would have seen the supermaxx torsion keys before i bought the readylift set. i have had no problems out of them but i know they dont have the versatility of 3 inch lift. so before i click the buy button did you need to change shocks or can you still use stock?

Thanks
Bentley

If you look on Supermaxx web site and download the instruction, I think they recommend not changing your shocks. I did not change mine, and so far no problems.

Why spend $250 on TB keys when can can use GM/Chevy 1/2 ton keys for $60 that do the same thing?

You can go up to 1.5" rear spacer on H2 coil spring suspension without issue.

To get the most out of your front suspension, you should use the longer Cognito-Bilstein shocks.

There is also a set of Bilsteins for the rear that allow you to get 2" more travel. Works great with the coil spacers.

If you guys are careful in your product selection- you can add more travel/flex in the front & rear on the H2, raise the height several inches, strengthen the weak OEM steering components and keep a relatively low center of gravity

I got my TB Keys over a year ago, so I already made that mistake. I am getting the spacers within the week and I have not decided what shocks to do yet. I have been looking at the Rancho RS9000XL's. I like the adjustability on them and I can pick them up for 250. Can argue to much with that.

Tomp where in Texas are you located and who do you suggest to do the suspension work. I am in Dallas and I would like to try all of your suggestions. Would you please specify with model numbers the Bilsteins for front and rear and what brand front keys to use and rear spacer brand and size. I'm trying to run 37/13.50/22 without rubbing, alignment issues or suspension creaking .Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I am in Allen/Plano area...

Check out the Cognito Upper Control Arms - they list the front shocks to use as well

4WP in Plano does my work that I dont have time to do myself. Ask for Blain - he is familiar with the Cognito stuff from doing my rig

SuspensionMaxx makes the best spacers for the H2. Go for 1" or 1.5" spacers

The Chevy 1/2 torsion bar keys will allow you to raise the H2 about 3-4 inches over stock H2 keys

Trail Duty can get you all the stuff you need at a good price. They also know the Bilstein rear shock part numbers to use to add 2" of travel on rear.

If anyone wants my 1" spacers at a good price, I am about to replace them with some pricey adjustable ones. I will let them go for $50 shipped

The upper arm is not need unless you plan on going beyond 3" lift
