Ok.. from reading this forum I know we have some electronic wizards out there. My electronic wish list:

I want all the wiring for my offroad lights, Police LED's, sirens, whistles and bells to all be wired to a box under the hood and operated with a remote control about the size of my FLip cell phone ( small)..So i don't have to run more wires or switches into the cab. NO it doesn't need the abilty to beam me up anyplace. ALthough if it was prewired for adding that later would not be unacceptable.

OK.. Any Ideas.

Thanks

Mike

It looks like each connection can be different to suit each need. They can be on- off or momentary contact. so you could do all your lights individually and siren momentary if you don't use your horn to trigger the momentary contact on your siren. It should be interesting. I am going to get one and play with it on my baby.

Thats an easy one! Bring it out to Cali and I will help you out. It will take a bit of time but it is a easy task to do. BIG-C

Thank you for the generous offer. However I must decline.. I have a standing rule "If it is over 200 miles, that is what they make airplanes for."

I was rethinking this thing anyway.. many of the lights are on top and will require running thru the roof anyway.

Mike,
Based on the above and your other post about running wires thru the marker light, Mabey you could use a box on the roof rack with the remote circuit board and relays for the PIAAs in it and control them all with the remote. With ten contacts you could run the 911EPs and the PIAAs.

I forgot, with the roof mounted box you would only need a hot and ground wire from inside to the box.

You could use a basic Keyless entry system. Right there you have a simple 2 channel system, and with the right technician and depending on the manufacturer of the unit, you could easily have three channels from a simple 2 button key-fob remote.

These are good ideas.. I'm going to a couple of stereo shps to pick their brains. ALso will see if I can bribe one of the Mechanics at the Sheriff's garage with a Range Membership. There is a couple of guys who are great at wiring just not sure how good they are at hiding wires other then on a Crown Vic. I am almost sure I will take a Pelican case from inventory and mount in gobi rack.. I have one on the top of the Sub. I use it for the roof mount strobe packs, also carry recovery straps and my extra emergency equipment in the same case using a hot glued in dividers.

Thanks again for the ideas.. any others out there please fire away.. Like I said I have at least a two week wait for all my darn lights to show up.

There is a local Firefighter that also runs a phone/auto business.
He does most of the work in the county as far as police/fire lights go.

Mike,
Here is another idea for the hardwire switch route.
http://www.awdirect.com/awdirect/fin...m?itemid=15969
These are a little pricey but might look good if mounted right. The box could go up on the roof rack.

Dick

Thanks for all the help.. All my lights are finally in stock. We had to stray just a bit from your proposed wiring diagram. However I set the remote unit up in the store with a low amp led. I wanted to make sure that the system would work before I put in on top of the H2.
I had the panel in the store and went outside with the remote.. Works great. I hope to get the 4 piaas, 2 @ 39" 911Ep's and siren hooked up to it this Sunday.. only snag is we are out of pelian cases and will have to pay retail at one of the camera stores. Oh well not a major deal, they are a great store and deserve some more of my business anyway.

Thanks Again.

Mike

Sound great. Looking forward to pictures of the mounting of the 911EPs.
I am still debating using the six switch Touch Tek set up.

I have to figure out how to wire the 25amp relay to the 911's Like I said before elec. stuff ain't my thing.. I played with a while last night on mommas kitchen table. I will use the 1st four relays on the remote to toggle thru the different light patterns. Of course that is when I figure it all out.. I have Sunday amm off and will play with it then.
