AAM 7.25 IFS Housing Cast Iron
http://www.aam.com/file.php/255/axle+shaft+brochure.pdf
Is it this simple? 725 - 7.25 IFS
Page 3, enlarge to 100% so you can read the PDF. Item number 5, 7.25 IFS housing shows 3 different carrier part numbers, two are aluminum, one is cast iron. It shows the usage (application as ZR2)
Part numbers listed are OE and AAM.
I have already been told that they brought back the cast iron housing originally designed for the Blazer ZR2.
I have since been told that it has probably been redesigned???
All I want to know is if I were to order that cast iron housing, will it fit and work on my H3?

Re: AAM 7.25 IFS Housing Cast Iron
We actually have the AAM 760 in the H3. And it's a 7.6" ring gear.

Sewie I've read that before also. I've seen it written on spec sheets before too. The problem is, I've also seen the 7.25 written on spec sheets, and I've been told several times thats the one in the H3.
Are you positive it is the 760 with the 7.6 gear?
No Paul, I think Bebe originally posted that pic. If it wasn't hers it was in a thread she started. Thank God that isn't mine, damn thing does look nasty.

Bebe got the info from someone at GM. Plus AAM's site shows it as the 760. I guess you could open it up and check.
I believe the Colorado/Canyon has the 725, and that might be why there was some confusion. I still thought it was a 725 until I heard otherwise and started researching it a couple weeks ago.
I've also seen heard people say the rear is an 8" when it is an 8.6".
