I just purchased a Garmin Street Pilot III and love it. This thing truly is within 3 meters of where you really are. I opted for this one over the smaller e-trex models because the screen is larger and in color. Also, we go to Boston every summer for vacation so it will be nice to take it with me and always know where I am. Looking forward to future offroad trips and setting waypoints as well. This is truly a nice investment and fortunately I found a store that had it priced wrong so they had to honor it. Let me know if anyone else has had a good experience with their gps.

I had mine out in the Alaskan tundra and all it said was I was a LONG way from anywhere.
It also makes an excellent range finder.
We were in northern Ontario bear hunting and found a large granite rock and started shooting at it.
This was before I had lazer range finders.
After shooting I took waypoint and walked out to rock .23 miles (+/- 400 yards).

My hiking boots and canoe paddle have more miles than most 'offroad' vehicles, over 350 in last year.
