That was my post.........you do need to make a small adjustment to the hole where the light comes through the fiberglass but its not very much and trust me I am not the type of person that likes to cut on my vehicles but this wouldnt even be noticeable if you went back to the stock headlights later like I will to use them in another vehicle. I have an H2 SUT on order and once its in I will be taking these HID units out and placing the stock lights back in my H2 so I can use the HID ones in my new SUT...........here are a few pics

That was my post back to Bruce and yes you need to do a small modification to the hole where the lights are installed on the fiberglass opening but trust me I dont like making modifications and this one is so minor and if you decide later to sell your vehicle and keep the lights and put the stock units back the average person wouldnt be even to tell the opening was there with the stock units back installed..........I will post some pictures of the lights installed in my H2 including one from the back side

I am going to have to think about those. They are kinda freaky eyeball looking.
When I look at pic 3 I keep waiting for the light to roll to the side to look at me.

I had HidTech's phone # but I can't locate it. I'm sure if you email them they will give it to you. They are not a big company but they are good guys.

Thanks, but that link times out too.
I have a fast cable modem, but nothing seems to get thru. The first link takes me to a search page and when I click on the link on that page it times out.
The phone mumber was my best hope.

Ok guys,
Here I go again proving I am a neophite when it comes to HID lights.
Can anyone tell me how these lights differ from the http://www.h2source.com/201-124-1.htm

SMA is proud to offer a Xenon HID Headlamp Kit for the Hummer H2. This kit is designed to be easily installed and features a DOT approved 7 inch reflector w/ a Xenon low beam and a Halogen high beam. The Xenon low beam remains lit while the high beam is activated. This kit includes all the necessary wiring and installation instructions. This is the only HID kit available for the H2 that is DOT approved.Add to cart for actual price.
I purchased these and they S%$&K!!!
Sorry Jason!

IK..Im going to answer two questions at the same post here...............Dick.....here is the info you requested
IF YOUR INTRESTED CALL ME 1800 523 3548
BRUCE
Next.....SRFCASTER......The ones on your link are the old Glass housing units that have very poor lighting quality, and are only HID in low beam with Halogen High Beam.......The ones I am talking about are Projector Beam units that are HID on Low and HIGH beam and have an incredible light pattern and output..........they are the same projectors used in the Dodge Viper, Cadillac XLR and CTS and probably the same ones used by BMW and Mercedes.......I live in Newport Beach and I have driven side by side on many occaisions recently to the new cars mentioned above and I have the same light pattern in both clarity, color, length of light and width..........I have owned the ones in your link (first and second generations) and to be honest.....They Suck...........Hope this helps............

Are they DOT approved? I know you said they are the same as such-and-such, but.... I like them.

So Cal, do the projectors have some sort of glass housing on top of the projectors? Or is it just the projector unprotected?

I have had those lights in my Hummer for 3 months now. I got a set from Valeo Sylvania to try and use. You have a to do a little modifications to fit but it is worth it. The light is incredible. Plus I no one ever flashes me. On hi beam they are like light cannons. They need to offer a kit to make them plug and play. I posted pics of these a while ago in a yellow H2. You have to get used to the look but one you see the light, you won't care about the bulging eyeball look.
email me at jwn@sgi.net with any quesitons. I can take pics and tell you how to fit them in an H2. The manufactuer is Valeo-Sylvania located http://www.xesighting.com/

Are there glass covers ???.........Answer......The projectors have a glass lens over them and the inside of the housings have a motor that opens a lens to change from low to high beam.It rained really hard a few weeks ago here in So Cal and it was not only great to have all the light driving in the rain but the lights didnt get any rain or condensation........they are sealed and had no problems.........Im here in Orange County for any of you in the area and want to get a look at them I can make myself available for a night drive...........and as 89Vette said....once you get used to the look and see the light these put out you will be very happy......I actually like the look now that I have gotten used to it and I love the light output.
