Vamtac is off the scale

I am over from the jeepforum. I own a few jeeps and a hummer so i am torn between the two. Just want to say Hi to everyone.

I have had 2 H1s since 1997 and after driving the Spanish Vamtac I fell for it big time. It looks very similar to to H1. Except when up close the differences really become apparant.

This was the color it came in from spain. Lovely mat desert tan. Wish i never had to re-spray it.

The chassis rails are thicker. So is most of the crossmembers and suspension. The engine is a 6 cylinder steyr mono-block 5 ltr twin turbo. Puts out about 350bhp. Standard fording depth is 1.5 meters with an exhaust extension. It has ARB lockers front and rear as well as t-case. Unlike my H1 the bottom armor of this truck is completelt flat. No ladder skids like AM General. Also what i like is the flat body panels. I plan to change the tires to superswamper STS 38x15.50R16.5. The goodyear militarys are too aggresive for the sand!

The only downside to this awesome (H1 copy) is the price as it is about 180K new.

I have never seen one of these in person. Did you buy this right from the base?
