I get something similar but I haven't been able to connect it with anything, like a certain when it happens. Mine sounds like a CD spinning down for like 2 seconds then it's gone. Could it be air bag related?

Well, what do I know - I am still waiting for my Hummer...
But I have the same sound in my bimmer, it is quite common on E46s - vacuum fuel gauge.. But H3 doesnt have any economy gauge, or does it?
(Who would like to watch it anyway )
