Default HPTuner and Whipple

So just how hard would it be to do customer programming yourself? I have a Whipple and want to see if I can squeeze any more MPGs out of it. I would like to see what Whipple sets with their tune and tinker with it. Anyone out there done this?

Not sure what Whipple's tune is like, but I've heard that HPTuners give you about as much control as you can get over tuning.

The real question is, am I smart enough to make it better. I spent some time on the phone with Jeff from Whipple today. He was extremely helpful and patient as I asked questions. I am going to leave it with the Whipple tune. I really put the pedal to the floor for the first time today and it scared the hell out of me. Hummers are not supposed to be that fast. Mine came on the truck I bought a few weeks ago and I am so glad I went with this one. If you have the bread to lay down for one, I highly recommend it.
