Default Stab Sys / Brake Light Switch - Need some help!

I have read all of the posts on stab sys failure and brake switch alignment...been there did that. This afternoon I was advised by a police officer that my brake lights were not working...prior to that the stab sys failure flashed on the DIC when pulling out of work...then it cleared. However, I am fairly certain that my brake lights did not work after that which leads me to believe that I have a bad brake light switch. Have any of you run into this and if so, do you think the part can be obtained from a local Chevrolet dealership?

If you look at your brake pedal there are 2 switches, one is black and the other is white, if you have a way to gauge there shouldnt be more than 1.5mm gap between switch plunger and the bracket that pushes it in. Sometimes the plungers get stuck, you can also reset them by first turning the left switch to the left then the right switch to the left, then pull a little on the brake pedal towards you then push right switch in and turn back to right , then do the same on the left switch while still holding on to the brake pedal.

Thanks for the feedback...brought it in to the local Hummer dealer and my thought was correct. The brake switch was bad and the replacement cleared everything right up.
