Hello-

Recently our 03 h2 has been having a problem with the key getting stuck and the shifter button sticking. I looked in the older postings and found that this has many elements of the previous posting. I am not quite sure if I would be in over my head in trying to repair this myself, so far I have injected graphite in to the key cylinder and the button opening on the gear shifter, this seemed to fix the problem for about 6 days. Like I had mentioned before that this has many elements in previous posting but I am not sure if this is the same problem requiring a new cylinder and solenoid wire as noted in other postings. Any help would be great

if the key won't turn back it is because the shifter button is sticking. most common problem for this is coffee or soda being spilled on center console. usually to fix this remove the shifter handle then remove the trim over it. just be careful not to lose the retaining clips. and then spray the shifter mechanism with brake cleaner its just alcahol so it won't melt the plastic make sure you get it down the shifter stalk also and then lube it with crc or wd40.

last night at 2am, I couldn't get the key out of the ignition. The H2 would shift into park, drive and reverse, but wouldn't let go of the key???
