$6,500 is a hefty tag but the fiberglass option does look nice. Ive said it since dbartmoth came out with his version, it almost makes me wish i had a sut.

Re: SUT Slantback
I am told that Karl will be posting some finished (refined) pics this week. I have to admit, it may be pricey but there isn't a whole lot of alternatives (in the hard top market). I also PM'd Karl, to ask if it will be waterproof and he assures that it will. I think it may have to be one of my first accessories on my new '08 SUT due in any day now!

Re: SUT Slantback
Personally, I think it looks great but I think that price is freakin' ridiculous. I realize they may be making the only good fiberglass top but 6500??? That's freakin' crazy. I can buy an entire fiberglass camper top for a pickup for 1500-2500 bucks, why should this one that is half the length cost 3-4 times as much.
Not to mention, if you're going to put a cap on the back, why the hell not just buy an SUV?

Ahh, see there's the same question my wife asked. And my response was - "The next time I take the wet boat cover off and toss it in the back seat of your car, let me know how it smells when I forget to get it out all weekend!"
Actually, I have an Avalanche right now. I have loved having an enclosed bed that crap can roll around, pile up, ferment... and more.

...or wet dogs, muddy boots, dead ducks/ geese, etc.
I think the slantback is a great idea. I think that price is a little high, but it is custom. Custom is going to be expensive. You have to pay those patents paid for some how... they;re not cheap. From the pics of the out of shape guys they have put some work into it. I hope to see some pics of the the actual product instead of them.
