Not sure this has been posted before, but besides the factory tire-carrier, the rear end caps now have the red brake lights (the ones Dan wanted to turn into clear back-up's).
Was at the dealer waiting for the passenger grab-bar to be fixed (one side came unlocked and wouldn't stay locked in - bad plunger), as I was looking around, notice these changes, and the parts guy happened to be there and told me that he has been getting calls from people who wanted retrofitting, and he quoted some outrageous price of something like $1,400. He said the harness alone is like $600+, and the bumper bar is different in length as well, let alone the lens and end caps, etc....

I don't like them, but I could see how they might keep some retard from rear-ending you.

I would have preferred to use the cavity for a high power back-up light, perhaps GM felt otherwise...

The harness is $600!? WTF? Can't you just splice into the other brake light. What a rip-off.

You can say that again, thank god I wasn't interested in the "upgrade", no doubt that's full retail+. I actually wasn't too surprised since I was told that one piece license light wiring harness (for the factory tire carrier) was something like $100.
I'm sure it can be spliced into the existing brake light circuit or from the trailer harness, the $600 is probably a full harness for all the rear lighting.

Thank you for posting that, it confirmed I'm not losing my mind!
I saw one of these setups on a pewter rig here in town a few months ago. The truck was on an access road while I was on the highway, so I couldn't get a good glimpse at it except from behind, and thought it might have been an H3 at the time except for the size. Really threw me for a loop....I can honestly say it's not worth the money, unless you're just one of those H2 folks who have to have something "different" on your truck....like chrome flames.

Saw this while I was on e-bay, and I thought it might be of interest to those on the forum with 03 and 04 H2s who want to update their bumper end caps to 05 appearance.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte...ageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
A lot less than the May 05 retrofit price of $1,400.00, found earlier in this thread.

$100! I wonder where he stole them from.

II don't think he stole them, since he currently has three separate auctions for this light kit, and has had three or four more that ended the last week or so.
I think it must be a GM accessory kit. I don’t know, but it is priced very reasonable for those who must have the latest. I know there is a GM accessory Bumper End Cap with light housing (no harness) that GM sells:
Part# 88966141 – Left Bumper End Cap
Part# 88966142 – Right Bumper End Cap
So this must be a kit to convert existing 03 and 04 Bumper End Caps to the 05 styling.

I personally like the bumper lamps! Reminds me of a big unimog dump truck!

I paid 1100 for the rear tire carrier, and this kit via my dealer. Installed both myself.
