Re: XM to Sirius....
(all info is specific to my '03 H2, Y91 option with in dash changer and without XM installed).
The kit I used is SIR-GM1
First, you must ensure that your factory head unit is Sattelite Ready- look at the front- if it has a BAND button (not AM/FM) then it is good to go.
If you have factory XM installed, you can indeed remove the clip and use the existing antenna. If not, use the one that comes with the kit. I ran my wire under the rail track, then inside by removing the passenger side clearance light, running under the wire grommet, and putting silicone around the edge. Then, the good ole Coat Hanger and string technique to route it (I pulled my pass side grab handle and gained access by a hole in the metal that would be above and toward the door, ref passenger sitting position).
If you have XM, drop the glove box and make the swap there. The kit has 2 harnesses, 1 for XM Installed at Factory, 1 for not. If you have factory XM then it is about a 10 minute install. If you do not...
Then it will be a couple hours. You must remove the center console in order to remove the front dash trim around the radio. Then remove 3 bolts and pull the radio. The sirius kit instructions show in detail what you need to do, but basically- plug and play. Route the wires, and you will need to splice into one 12V power source and a chassis ground for the noise filter. Then reassemble. I put the actual Sirius 'box' above the glove box with zip ties , deconflicted from the airbag.
Now when you cycle thru the 'bands' you get the standard AM, FMs, and SIR1, SIR2.
Cheers.
