Used H3's
We have a small Ford dealership located a few miles from my house. Over the past two months I have found two H3s there.
The first was a Shadow green Adventure, auto, XM, Step bars, with 679 miles on it. A young couple bought it and realized they could not afford the payments so traded it in on an Escape. The dealer was selling it for more than it would have cost for a new one from a Hummer dealer with the current discounts. The dealer sold it for $33,500. Some one did not do their research there.
Yesterday I noticed a red LUX with 8,560 miles. Leather, sun roof. The couple traded it in after they backed into other vehicles 2 times. The first time they hit a dodge ram and the spare was pushed in and broke the rear window for about $3000 of damage. The second time they backed over a 2006 Mustang. No real damage to the Hummer except some bumper scrapes, the Mustang was not so lucky and was around $5000 of repairs needed. They decided maybe the Hummer was not for them. The Ford dealer is listing this one for $35,750 and already have two people attempting to arranging financing for them. I guess it is too hard to drive another 45 mnutes to get a better deal for a new one.
Anyone else have trade in stories? I have not seen one who has traded it i because they do not like it

Re: Used H3's
Sound's good for H3 value retention. Depreciation is usually the biggest vehicle expense and high demand for used H3s is great. I hope it holds over time. A couple thousand $$ more at trade-in time in a few years is just as real a savings as 25+ mpg would be!

It is worth whatever they can get you to pay for it.

Hummer trade-in stories can be especially sad for sure. Some people don't mind taking depreciation hits costing thousands of dollars, and they just continue to get poorer as a result.

Re: Used H3's
The Red Lux is gone today, spent less than a week on the lot, sold probably for more than list on a new one with GMID

Re: Used H3's
The same dealer I has spoke earlier about, today rolled in two more used H3's. I saw them unload them from a hauler. They were not sure of the prices they would be asking but dealer said they would buy as many used H3s as they could find because they were getting exactly what they were asking for them price wise . The yellow one has 5,000 mile and the red one 12,000 miles. The yellow one would bring a premium since it was customized (ie new rims). The dealer (Ford) even admitted they were looking at buying demos from the local hummer dealer and selling them. Apparently the new ones may need some incentives to sell but this dealer has no trouble moving the used ones.

Don't forget there's a whole marget out there made up of people who will just buy a used vehicle (I work with a couple). The Hummers are just getting to them.
They think they get a better deal by letting someone else take the depreciation hit. I always seem to do better buying new. They last longer when I take care of them.

They should trade in their driver's licenses for a pair of Nikes.
