Default Lease Ending?

Has anyone had a lease come due? One of the reasons I went with an H3 was their high residual value keeping my payment low. I was wondering if anyone had their lease end and if GM was sticking to the residual value if someone wanted to buy it or were they willing to make a deal rather than take back a vehicle that they no longer make?

My H2 lease is up in a few months and they will not budge on my residual.

I leased my first H2 and they wouldnt do anything for me. But I took advantage of early termination and bought another GM vehicle.

I turned my H3 lease in at the end of Jan. They would not move on the price at all. Just kept saying it's their policy.

I did today talk to the dealer where I bought my new one and he said they had 2, 2009's left and were willing to give up the dealer kickbacks ontop of incentives to get rid of them. 2500 he said for the kickback.

I was going to buy out my lease but i was almost out of warranty and buying new just made more sense. With at the time GMS + 5k incentive + around 1500 dealer kickback I got it just about 10K off msrp.

The secret is not to deal with GMAC. Find a dealer willing to get their hands slapped, then have them purchase the vehicle from GMAC and resell it back to you. They can purchase it at a low price based on auction values in the area. Then they turn around and you purchase from them.

I did this and purchased the H3 for 7K less than the high residual placed on the original lease by GM. Dealer might get caught, but all they will get is a slap on the wrist.

Legally your responsible for rent until your lease ends or a new tenant is found. The possibility of you being in labor has no bearing on your lease nor is it the landlords problem.
