Um...picked up my new filter for the first oil change (3000 miles) and the filter looks small as ****! The filter I had on my BMW was bigger than this thing. I am using a WIX filter...have been using them for years.

Was anyone else taken back by the size of the filter...or would it be possible gave me the wrong one?? Also has anyone crossed it to see if they could get a longer filter to increase the amount of oil you can run?

It's a pf46 filter. You could run the pf59 which is a little longer if you have the room.

Thanks for the info! If it sticks out I won't even try it...last thing I want to do is catch it on a rock!

I thought it was tiny, too. Thing is, the filter on my 8.1L Dually was smaller than that. Strange.

In this, like all things, size does matter.
