Just wanted to show everyone what I have done to the rear of my H2. I am going for a utilitarian look. I really like how everything is comeing together.
All I have to do now is get rid of my chrome license plate frame and remove my chrome letter inserts.
I have seen a few other threads in regards to removing all the chrome on their H2's. Has anyone done their grill yet? I found a company that can do black chrome platting on plastic. I have not seen any samples of this yet, so it would be nice to see someone else take the plunge first :-).
BTW, there is more detailed pictures on my site, YellowH2.com
Well off to bed. Happy Hummering to all, and to all a good night...

Looks good! Mission accomplished, it does look very utilitarian. It looks like an expedition vehicle with all that gear. A Hi-Lift jack would look good on that rack too, and they are very usefull to have.
And good call on removing those chrome letters.

I'm trying to decide whether I want my grill black or red (my truck's red). The grills on the H1s match the rest of the truck which is what made me think of trying to match it to the truck color. I saw a PhotoShop version of an orange one with a black grill but wasn't convinced black was the way to go.

Kim,
I was thinking about changing my grill to black chrome as well. I photoshoped (is that the correct verb now?) this picture to see how mine would look in black. What do you think?
If you email a front shot of your H2 I can change the grill to both red and black for you and post it. It only takes me about 10 minutes.

I won't be able to do during the day as I will be at work, but I can get it done tonight.
BTW, my wife is named Kim. But she prefers to be called Kimberly. I call her Kim though.

That looks pretty good. I think it might look a little better in flat or semi-gloss black to match the bumper. Also, it would probably look cool and complete the look if you painted the front of the side view mirrors to match the bumper and grille. That chrome or stainless that the mirror are finished in sure sticks out.

Hi all! For you guys and girls that want all your chrome to be black or a matching color. Have you ever thought about having them covered in vinyl? I've been using a graphics company to do my company vehicles ( the entire vehicle ) and the vinyl looks great, is heavy duty and won't ruin the finish under it if you ever wanted to go back to chrome. Just a thought.

Nice look you got there, Jerry! I am interested to find about the Jerry Can installation. I assume it required drilling holes in the tailgate. Is that right?
And what about the effect of gas can and ladder weight on ability to open tailgate?

Kim,
Here is a quick and dirty job of both black and red. Sorry for the large size. Photoshop upped it when I saved it and I did not want to bring the resolution down much as it would look pretty bad. I am not sure at this point which I like better.
Jim, In regards to your question. Yes I had it drilled in for better support. If you look on my site you can see that there is some rubber mounts we put in behind the can. With both the Jerry can and ladder, my rear hatch will not stay open. Either one by them selves and it will. I am in the process of getting stronger gas shocks so it stays up again.

Jerry,
Would you mind using photoshop for my pictures with both the black grill and the pewter metallic grill on my H2.

No Problem Gary. I can do it late this evening. I see you are bidding on new side view mirrors on Ebay as well :-). Good Luck. Wish there were more up for bid.

Here is my H2 with an all white/black (except grille-lights) look. The yellow Hummer H2 looks fantastic.

Here is a front view - Hey Gary and Yellow I know your H2 has the ladder on the back with no tire. Can the ladder work with the outside tire? BTW all the H2s look great - One great looking rig.

Hmmm, I thought I'd like the black better, but I actually think I like the body color grille on Kim's H2 better. It looks very H1-ish.

Here you go Gary. Another quick and dirty job. Your rig is too clean in this picture. The transformation is not as good as the others as there were allot of shadows to go through.

Thanks - I definitely like the red better and the yellow one with the yellow grill really looks good. I agree Mike - more H1-ish. Thanks again Jerry!! Now I just have to find someone that can match the paint. Goodbye chrome!
