It looks like a gard for under one of the seats by a track.

I have that same part sitting in my garage somewhere. Same story, just found it on the floor. You gotta love that cheap-ass GM engineering.

It is the rear end cap of the seat rail for the front seats. It is simply for trim of the end of the bare rail, that is otherwise exposed to the 2nd seat passengers.

Leave it off, put it on, ... doesn't matter.

It tends to be from the outside front seat rail - either drivers side front or passenger side front. Rail towards the doors.
It keeps you from impailing your heal on the rather sharp track! The barbs go towards the inside but just look at the one that is still installed on the oposite seat and reinstallation will make sense!

So, when does it not come from the seat rails? Does it tend to come from somewhere else also?

What exactly does "impailing your heal" entail? First, I don't know what my "heal" is and is "impailing" kinda like putting your foot into a pail of water?

Are you building back up to come on here and spread more lies and stupidity?

There is some truth to this topic's first post and some subsquent posts. However, Hummer Man's (aka FUEL DOOR) no response, or rather his actions and words after this topic has earned my respect. What he did was/is to totally and completely ignore the complaints against him, he just increased his number of postings, added more substance, even though there maybe still some creditability gap. The no response tactic in this case has been highly effective and shows signs of either superior intelligence or lack of any.

I have no doubt my postings annoy some members here for whatever reason I have no control over, and I have observed frictions, confrontations or deliberated provocations from time to time, which shall occure again down the road. Maybe it is my lack of English or social skill, my honest and straightshooter style or whatever. Do I care about provocations toward me? frankly not at all. Was I insulted or hurt? not that I can remember. What is the best response: no response at all. Just ignore.

Hummer Man (aka Fuel Door) is smart.

No worry about Hummer Idiot responding. Most of what he types are lies that almost seem intentional and yet he never responds when called on them. So, don't expect flame wars.

I just consider myself a drywall installer coming along and putting spackling compound over the ignorant holes of his posts. For the benefit of newbies, of course.
